Gym Towel.

I was so mortified I wanted to just run out with the towel still on my face. On hindsight I should have just offered the person my own unused towel and call it a trade. Instead I mumbled an apology, handed the person her now-nasty sweat-logged towel, grabbed my own, and fled the scene of the crime.

Yogurtland Bag.

I gots meself a free Yogurt land cooler bag for eating yogurt three times during their five-day fifth year anniversary event! The bag is wonderful and large capacity and thickly insulated and bright yellow and is making me happier than it probably should.

Phone Call.

Apparently the hottest family convo topic of the year is about why Susan is not yet married and is discussed in extreme depth and analysis when I am not there. I love mi familia :)

Summer Blanket.

Fooled by a mere couple days of mid-summer temperatures last week, I happily washed and packed away my winter down comforter and replaced it with my summer blanket. But alas! The weather took a turn for the worse, producing windy days and chilly nights that currently creep all too easily through the much thinner blanket.

Adult.

I realize I've become the exact horrible prickly preachy adult I used to hate as a kid. I always aspired to grow up to be a “cool” adult. Yet here I am shaking my cane at the kids on my yard with the rest.

Pink-eye Baby.

I like this baby and babies in general, I really do, but not today. I don’t care if it’s a baby with pink eye or an adult with pink eye – pink eye is still pink eye and believe me I suffered my pink eye lot in high school and I NEVER. EVER. want pink eye again. After that time I don’t even LOOK at people with pink eye lest I get it. Yet here is this toddler, all over my lap and touching every single one of my things with the same hands she rubbed her watery little pink-eyed pink eyes with. After an hour of every hair on my scalp standing on end in fear and horror and my mind sadistically having replayed the dreaded high school pink-eye incident more than a billion times, her momma finally takes her away. She smiles: “Make sure to wash your hands just in case!” and leaves. My eyes feel itchy already.

Wall Mirror 2

Still high off the excitement of having my very own wall mirror, I wasted no time in setting it up. The mounting fixture was of a pretty complicated and cumbersome construction involving four screws and four little plastic clips to secure the mirror to the wall.

I doggedly refused to call J out for help and proceeded to sweat it out on my own.

Finally after some trial and error and chinese-circus-style body contortion to use one of my feet to hold the mirror against the wall while reaching for rolled-away screws and clips, the mirror was wonderfully and miraculously straight-ly secured to the wall!

I then proceeded to feel ridiculously good about myself and thought that good looking gal in the mirror to be likely the coolest person on the planet and a regular screw-driver wielding champ.

That is, until I stood up.

Wall Mirror.

Nearly half a year after moving into our new haus, I FINALLY got around to purchasing a wall mirror for my room! I was surprised to find random males asking if I needed help carrying it (chivalry lives?!) but politely declined, opting to carry me treasure meself!

introducing...

hi everyone, i'm mikki and i like to... uh.. draw... err. yeah..

as you all know, susan has been very busy with her i61studio business updating the blog, chasing down vendors, risking life and limb to find the perfect photo spot in between posing as a cubicle slave during the weekday and freelance photographer on the weekends. and unfortunately with all that going on, she could not give susandraws the love and care that the poor little fellow deserved. so she had taken upon herself to do the next best thing and pass it along to me, yours truly!

when susan first approached me with such an idea, i had to contemplate for some time. (especially in between commercials for CSI: Las Vegas and The Mentalist exactly.) with all the responsibilities and heaviness of it all... i really needed some time to weigh the options out. and my conclusion after some heavy thought was, voila!

welcome to MIKKIDRAWS @_@;;

the meandering art vents of a supply chain planner.

i can't promise you the delectable bite-size yogurtland-worthy stories she delivers,
nor can i promise cutesy drawings of happies in recognizable real-life characters,

but i can promise you... something to read.
and to look at.
at least for a second or two... or 3... or..4... or...

anyways, what i mean to say is, please be nice to the housesitter.
say good night to susandraws and good morning to mikkidraws (2.0 beta form)!!!

Edit: Happy April FOOLED Y'ALL! Much thanks to my artistic buddy and partner in crime Mikki (applause) for all her con-man skeelz (not to mention artistic skeelz!)

xoxo
